SYMPTOMSWhen an Include page contains image maps with the same name, the Microsoft FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions (FPSE) do not ensure uniqueness of these image map names. This causes hotspots to be incorrect. CAUSEFor HTML preservation reasons, Front Page 2000 changed the way image maps are handled. Vanilla image maps are now written out rather than wrapped within an image map bot. Due to compatibility reasons, Microsoft changed the naming scheme for these client-generated image maps (from "FrontPageMap[number]" to "FPMap[number]"). The Server Extensions are rewriting the "FrontPageMap" form, but not the "FPMap" form. They should be rewriting both. RESOLUTIONA supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but
it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems
experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this
specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Office 2000 service Release
that contains this fix. http://www.microsoft.com/support/supportnet/overview/overview.aspThis fix should be installed the FrontPage Server. The English version of this fix should have the following file attributes or later:
WORKAROUNDUse only unique names for the image maps. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. MORE INFORMATIONAn Office setup file, Oqfe.msp, has also been provided. Run the following command to install the fix using the installer:
