FP1: FrontPage Editor Does Not Support Named Colors

SYMPTOMS

If you import a document generated in a program other than FrontPage that uses named colors, FrontPage Editor will attempt to convert the named color to its hexadecimal equivalent. When this conversion occurs, the imported color may not be what you expected.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft FrontPage 97 for Windows with Bonus Pack.

may be converted to this

   <body bgcolor="#001F76"> 
This is not the correct hexadecimal equivalent for white.
