MOD2000: How to View the SCC Status Window Inside the Visual Basic Editor

SYMPTOMS

If you close the SCC Status window, you cannot open the window again unless you perform a source code control operation.


RESOLUTION

To display the SCC Status window, on the Add-ins menu, point to VBA Source Code Control, and then click Refresh File Status.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. Start Microsoft Excel, and then press ALT+F11 to open the Visual Basic Editor.


  2. Save the project by clicking Save projectname on the File menu.


  3. On the Add-ins menu, point to VBA Source Code Control, and then click Add Project to Source Safe.

    NOTE: If the VBA Source Code Control command is not on Add-ins menu, use the Add-in Manager to add it.


  4. Create a new folder for this project, name it SCCTest, and then click OK and Yes to create the new folder.


  5. Check in all objects by clicking OK in the Check Files Into Source Safe dialog box.

    Note that the SCC Status window is displayed.


  6. Close the SCC Status window.


  7. To display the SCC Status window, on the Add-ins menu, point to VBA Source Code Control, and then click Refresh File Status.
