MOD2000: You Must Change Domain User Password for Use with Access Workflow Designer

SUMMARY

When you use Access Workflow Designer, you must change your domain user password in three different places in Windows NT or Windows 2000:

  1. The domain login screen.


  2. The Microsoft SQL Server Services.


  3. The modTBAD user identity.

You must change the user domain password in the appropriate places for Windows NT or Windows 2000, as shown in the following table.

NOTE: Before following these steps, stop Microsoft SQL Server.

Windows NT Windows 2000
The domain logon screen (press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, and then click Change Password) The domain logon screen (press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, and then click Change Password)
Microsoft SQL Server Services (in Control Panel, click the Services tool. Microsoft SQL Server Services (in Control Panel, click the Administrative Tools tool, and then click the Services tool.
User identity for modTBAD in DCOMCNFG:
  1. At the Access Workflow Designer server, on the Start menu, click Run.


  2. Type DCOMCNFG.


  3. Click OK or press ENTER.

    NOTE: If this is the first time that you are running DCOMCNFG, you may see a few messages. Click OK for each message to dismiss it.


  4. When the Distributed COM Configuration Properties dialog box appears, click the Applications tab.


  5. In the Applications list, click modTBAD, and then click the Identity tab.


  6. Type the new password and confirm the password change.


  7. Restart SQL Server.


User identity for modTBAD in DCOMCNFG:
  1. At the Access Workflow Designer server, on the Start menu, click Run.


  2. Type DCOMCNFG.


  3. Click OK or press ENTER.

    NOTE: If this is the first time that you are running DCOMCNFG, you may see a few messages. Click OK for each message to dismiss it.


  4. When the Distributed COM Configuration Properties dialog box appears, click the Applications tab.


  5. In the Applications list, click modTBAD, and then click the Identity tab.
