OFF2000: Cannot View Preview Picture on File Created on Macintosh

SYMPTOMS

When you click Preview on the Views button in the Open dialog box, you may receive the following message:

Preview not available.

The preview picture that has been saved with the file is not displayed.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when one of the following conditions is true:

You used a Microsoft Office 98 Macintosh Edition program to create your file.

-or-

You used a Microsoft Office 4.2.x for the Macintosh program to create your file.

WORKAROUND

To work around the problem, open and resave the file in the appropriate Microsoft Office 2000 program. A preview picture that is viewable in an Office 2000 program will be saved in the file.
