SYMPTOMSWhen you attempt to uninstall Microsoft Photo Editor, the Microsoft Office Setup program indicates Photo Editor is not installed on the computer, even though Microsoft Photo Editor is installed. CAUSEThis problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. MORE INFORMATIONMicrosoft Office 2000 does not remove Microsoft Photo Editor when you upgrade from Microsoft Office 97. Once Microsoft Office 2000 has been installed, the Microsoft Photo Editor is not displayed as being installed, even though the previous version is still on the computer. When you select to install the version of Microsoft Photo Editor that comes with Microsoft Office 2000, Microsoft Photo Editor is upgraded to the version (3.01) in Microsoft Office 2000. However, when you try to uninstall Microsoft Photo Editor version 3.01, the Microsoft Office Setup program indicates it completed successfully, but it does not actually remove Microsoft Photo Editor 3.01.
