OFF2000: Invalid Page Fault When Adding RemoteData Control to Userform

SYMPTOMS

In the programs listed above, when you add an ActiveX control to a Visual Basic for Applications UserForm, you may receive one of the the following errors:

Microsoft Windows 95 or 98

This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.

If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
If you click Details:
<Program> caused and invalid page fault in module FM20.DLL at <address>

Microsoft Windows NT

An application error has occurred and an application error log is being generated.

<Program>.exe
Exception: access violation (<number>), Address: <address>
Where <Program> is an Office Program and <address> is a memory address.


CAUSE

This behavior occurs when you insert the Microsoft RemoteData Control version 6.0, on a Visual Basic for Applications UserForm.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.


MORE INFORMATION

You cannot use the RemoteData Control 6.0, on a Visual Basic for Applications UserForm in the Office programs listed above.
