SYMPTOMSWhen you view your Product ID number in the startup splash screen for the Office programs, it may be different from the number that appears in the dialog box when you click About <program name> on the Help menu. CAUSE
You may have two different Product ID numbers if you previously installed a Beta version of Office 2000. RESOLUTIONWARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that
may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot
guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor
can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
The Product ID in the splash screen is now the same as the Product ID in the About <program name> dialog box. Additional query words: OFF2000
