SUMMARYSome applications allow you to define transparent areas using clipping paths. Clipping paths are normally used in PNG or TIFF images. Clipping paths are not supported in Microsoft Office 2000 applications. MORE INFORMATION
To define transparency in a Microsoft Office application, use an alpha channel instead of a clipping path. An alpha channel allows you to specify one color in your graphic as a transparency color. Each pixel that has that color value is rendered transparent, allowing the background color to show through.
NOTE: You can make only one color transparent. When printed, transparent areas are the same color as the paper they are printed on. In an electronic display-—such as on a Web page or in an Office document-—transparent areas are the same color as the background.
