SYMPTOMSAfter you upgrade Microsoft Windows 95 (with Internet Explorer 5 installed) to Arabic or Hebrew Microsoft Windows 98 localized edition, some elements of the operating system may remain in English (that is, non-localized). This may include icons, menus, the Windows Explorer, and possibly several other system components. CAUSEArabic and Hebrew Microsoft Windows 98 (localized editions) include localized Internet Explorer 4. When this is upgraded over a Microsoft Windows 95 system running Internet Explorer 5 (which is installed by default with Microsoft Office 2000), a conflict arises that leaves the system in an unsupported configuration. RESOLUTIONBefore Microsoft Windows 95 can be upgraded to Microsoft Windows 98, Internet Explorer 5 must be removed from the system. Use the following steps to resolve this issue:
