SYMPTOMSWhen you insert a Microsoft Excel object into another program, you may receive an error similar to one of the following error messages: -or- Or, you may receive the following error message when you try to insert a Microsoft Excel worksheet into a WordPad document:

WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, use one of the following methods. Method 1: Start Excel Before Inserting the ObjectEnsure that Excel is running before you insert an Excel object into other program.NOTE: If you have problems starting Microsoft Excel after receiving one of the error messages listed in this article, save your work if necessary, shut down the computer, and then restart Microsoft Windows NT. Method 2: Remove the Excel Add-InTo remove the Microsoft Excel add-ins mentioned in the Cause section, follow these steps:
