OFF97: SBE Help Erroneously Points to Getting Results Book

SYMPTOMS

The Help topic, "View the online Getting Results book," which is in Help for the products in Microsoft Office 97 Small Business Edition for Windows, version 2.0, contains the following text:

This feature is available only if you installed Microsoft Office from a CD-ROM.

If you are running the Office Shortcut Bar, click Getting Results Book on the Office toolbar.

If you have not installed the Office Shortcut Bar, insert the CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive, or connect to the network drive that you used to install Office. Double-click the Cdonline folder on the CD-ROM or in the Microsoft Office folder on the network, and then double-click the file Result97.htm.

Note If you installed Office from a CD-ROM, you are running the Office Shortcut Bar, and the Getting Results Book button is not available, run Office Setup again to install the Getting Results Book option. For information about how to install a program or component of Office, click <help jump>.

This information is incorrect. There is no Getting Results Book icon on the Office Shortcut Bar, and there is no Getting Results Book option when you run the Setup program.

RESOLUTION

The online Getting Results Book is located on the Microsoft World Wide Web site. To use the online Getting Results Book, you must have access to the Internet. To use this book, start your Internet browser and go to the following site on the World Wide Web:

http://officeupdate.microsoft.com/downloadDetails/gresults.htm

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
