SYMPTOMS

When you open a Word 97 for Windows document that contains Windows metafiles (WMFs) and/or enhanced metafiles (EMFs) in Word 98 for the Macintosh, the process is significantly slower in Word 98 for the Macintosh than in Word 6 for the Macintosh.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
