  • -and-

  • Your computer has been set up to use multiple user accounts.

  • -and-

  • Your account is a Limited user account or a Panels user account.

WORKAROUND

Workaround 1: Insert your Office 98 CD

To work around the problem, follow these steps:
  1. Close Microsoft Clip Gallery if it is still running.

  2. Insert your Microsoft Office 98 CD into your CD-ROM drive.

  3. NOTE: If you receive the following error message, the administrator for your computer must follow the steps outlined in Workaround 2:
You do not have access privileges to use this CD/DVD-ROM.
If the error message does not appear, go to step 3.
  4. Point to Picture on the Insert menu, and then click Clip Art.

  5. The clips stored on the Office 98 CD are available for use.

Workaround 2: Install Clip Art in a Location Accessible to All Users

If you do not have access to your Office 98 CD, the administrator for your computer must copy the clip art to a location to which all of the user accounts for your computer have read and write privileges. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Log on to the computer as the owner of the computer or as a normal user.

  2. Insert your Office 98 CD into your CD-ROM drive.

  3. Drag the Value Pack:Clipart folder on the Office 98 CD to the Users:Shared Documents folder on your hard disk.

  4. Log off and then log on using one of the Limited or Panels user accounts on your computer.

  5. Start any Office 98 program to which you have access.

  6. Point to Picture on the Insert menu, and then click Clip Art.

  7. Click Add Package. Browse to the Users:Shared Documents:Clipart:MultiMedia folder on your hard disk. Click Multimedia Clip Package and then click Open.

  8. Click OK to the resulting alert message.

  9. Repeat steps 7-8 to add the following clip packages:

  10.
          Users:Shared Documents:Clipart:Office:Office Clip Package
          Users:Shared Documents:Clipart:Photos:Photos Clip Package
          Users:Shared Documents:Clipart:Popular:Popular Clip Package
          Users:Shared Documents:Clipart:PowerPoint:PowerPoint Clip Package
          Users:Shared Documents:Clipart:Screen Beans:Screen Beans Clip Package
  11. Close Microsoft Clip Gallery.

At this point, the current user can insert clips from the Users:Shared Documents:Clipart folder on your hard disk into their documents. In order to make these clips accessible to all users, you must copy the following files from the Users:<Current Username>:Preferences folder to the Users:<Username>:Preferences folder for each user:

Clip Gallery User Database
