SUMMARYIn the instructions for installing Microsoft Office Assistant that are included with Microsoft Office, step 4 states the following: In the Command Line box, type the letter of the drive that contains the Office CD, a colon, a backslash, the text office.ast\disk1\setup and then choose the OK button. For example, type d:\office\disk1\setup.This information is incorrect. On the Microsoft Office 4.2-CD, the Office Assistant files are located in the OFASSIST directory. Therefore, the command line should read as follows
(where <drive> is the drive, D for example, where the Office CD is
located).
On the Microsoft Office 4.3-CD, the Office Assistant files are located in the bonus directory. Therefore, the command line should read as follows
(where <drive> is the drive, D for example, where the Office CD is
located).
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the documentation for Microsoft Office version 4.2-CD and 4.3-CD. Additional query words: 4.20-CD 4.30-CD docerr
