Can't Start Word or Microsoft Excel Under Windows NT 3.5

  • SYMPTOMS

    After you upgrade from Windows NT 3.1 to Windows NT 3.5, you may be unable to start Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel, and you may receive the following error message:

    Insufficient memory to run <Word or Excel>


    STATUS

    Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 3.5. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

    Note that this error message may be a symptom of a different problem. Troubleshooting for problems such as a printer driver that needs replacing, an out of date video , or a corrupt NORMAL.DOT may solve the problem.
