Word/Excel Readme Help Not Installed with Typical Installation

SYMPTOMS
When you perform a Typical installation of Microsoft Office, the Microsoft
PowerPoint Readme Help file is installed, but the Microsoft Excel Readme
Help file and the Word Readme Help file are not installed.
CAUSE
This is by design of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. During a Typical
installation of Microsoft Word, the Readme Help file is not installed.
Note that when you perform a Typical installation of Microsoft Office for
the Macintosh, the Microsoft Excel Readme Help file IS installed. However,
when you perform a Typical installation of Microsoft Office for the Power
Macintosh, this file is not installed.
WORKAROUNDS
To install the Word Readme Help file, or the Microsoft Excel Readme Help
file, do the following:
- Run Setup again in maintenance mode and choose the Add/Remove button.
- In the Components Not Yet Installed list, click the arrow next to
Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Word to display the list of items.
- Clear the check box next to any items that you do NOT want to install.
Make sure that the check box next to Online Help And Lessons (Online
Help for Word) is selected.
- Click the arrow next to Online Help And Lessons (Online Help for Word)
to display the list of items. Clear the check box next to any items that
you do NOT want to install. Make sure that the check box next to
Microsoft Excel Readme Help (Word Readme Help for Word) is selected.
- Choose Continue.

of the Microsoft Office application, instructions for installing the
