RESOLUTION
If the Microsoft OLE Extension is missing from your computer, run the
Microsoft Office Setup program and choose the Reinstall option to replace
the missing file.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available. MORE INFORMATION
The Microsoft OLE extension is installed by default into your System
Folder:Extensions folder when you run the Setup program for either
Microsoft Office for the Power Macintosh or Microsoft Excel for the Power
Macintosh. If this extension is removed from the Extensions folder, either
manually or through Extensions Manager, Microsoft Excel for the Power
Macintosh will start and function as designed. But, because the Microsoft
OLE extension controls some of the OLE functionality, you may experience
other problems as well when you try to use any of the shared programs
installed by Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.
