SYMPTOMSWhen you use the Microsoft Network Installation Wizard and use a universal naming convention (UNC) path to select the location of the .stf file, the application may select the local drive instead. CAUSEThe local drive may be selected if you type a UNC name under File Name in the "Please choose the proper STF File" dialog box. This is because the Microsoft Network Installation Wizard is designed to access a network location only by the drive Mapping function provided. RESOLUTION
To select an .stf file on the network using the current version of the
Network Installation Wizard, select the Network button in the "Please
choose the proper STF file" dialog box, enter the location of the .stf file
in the "Map Network Drive" dialog box, and then click OK. This returns you
to the "Please choose the proper STF file" dialog box at the proper network
location. Select the desired .stf file in the "File Name" box, and then
click OK.
