SYMPTOMSAfter you finish running Setup for any of the products listed at the beginning of this article, you may receive the following error message: NOTE: Depending on the program you are attempting to install, the Setup program may finish running despite the message. In Microsoft Access 7.0, you receive the following error message and the Setup program does not finish running. CAUSEWin32s is an operating subsystem that is used by 32-bit programs that run on 16-bit operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows 3.1 and Microsoft Windows for Workgroups 3.11. The Win32s subsystem provides a 32-bit environment for programs that require it, but it is not required when you run a true 32-bit operating system, such as Microsoft Windows 95 or Microsoft Windows NT. If you installed Windows 95 as an upgrade to an earlier version of Windows, the Win32s components may not have been removed. These components may cause the error messages during installation. RESOLUTION
To resolve the problem, rename the following files in your Windows System
folder:
NOTE: In some cases, it may be necessary to remove the Olepro32.dll file and the DAO folder to resolve the issue. After you rename the files, run the Setup program for the program you want to install and do either of the following:
