OFF98: "The Disk Is Locked" Error Running Patch

SYMPTOMS

When you run the Memo-Resume Wizard Patch, you may receive the following error message:

An error prevented the update from completing.

-44: The disk is locked

CAUSE

This problem occurs when you try to update a copy of a Visual Basic for Applications file that is located on the Microsoft Office 98 Macintosh Edition compact disc (CD).

WORKAROUND

To successfully apply the Memo-Resume Wizard Patch, update the Visual Basic for Applications file that is located in the Microsoft Office 98:Office folder on the hard disk.

STATUS

This behavior is by design of the Memo-Resume Wizard Patch.
