OFF98: Movie Inserted from Clip Art Converted to Picture

SYMPTOMS

When you insert a movie from the Microsoft Clip Gallery (Videos tab), the movie is inserted as a picture object, and the Picture toolbar is displayed.


CAUSE

Items from the Videos tab in the Microsoft Clip Gallery are not detected as movies and are converted to pictures when they are inserted in Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition or Microsoft Word 98 Macintosh Edition.


RESOLUTION

To insert a movie in your document, follow these steps:

  1. On the Insert menu, click Movie.


  2. Locate and select the movie file.


  3. Click Open.



STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
