SYMPTOMSWhen you uninstall the Office 2000 Server Extensions (OSE), you are prompted to delete the Discussion Database. If the discussion database used was the Master SQL database, then OSE will still prompt you to delete it, even though it was not created by the OSE install. CAUSEIn order to remove OSE functionality, the discussion server has to be disabled and the discussions removed. To remove discussions, it is more efficient to delete the database that contains the discussions. WORKAROUNDIf have chosen to use the SQL Master database for your discussion server and do NOT want to delete it on removal of the OSE, then click "No" when prompted to delete the database. As part of the OSE installation, you are prompted to configure a
discussion server. The discussion server consists of a SQL Server or
Microsoft Data Engine (MSDE) database, which will be used to store

To remove discussion threads, the database needs to be deleted. Therefore, you are prompted as to whether or not you wish to delete the discussion database. If you have used the SQL Master database as your discussion database, you may not wish to delete it.
