SUMMARYThis article describes new options in Microsoft Outlook 2000 for customizing your "Outlook Today" view. MORE INFORMATIONOutlook Today contains a Customize Outlook Today button which allows you to customize the following components:
StartupClick to select the "When starting, go directly to Outlook Today" check box to start Outlook with Outlook Today displayed. This will override the other options when you click Tools under the View menu and on the Other tab,click to start Outlook with a specific folder open.MessagesClick the Choose Folders button to select which e-mail folders Outlook Today will display. This will give you the number of unread messages in these folders. To add to the list use the following steps:
CalendarYou can show from 1 to 7 days of Calendar appointments. To set this, on the Customize Outlook Today window under the heading Calendar, click to select the number of days or type the number of days of your calendar items you wish to show. Nothing will happen if you try to enter a number greater than 7.TasksThis option allows you to show all tasks or today's tasks, and include tasks with no due date. You can also choose to sort tasks by the following fields: None, Importance, Due Date, Creation Time, or Start Date. You can also sort on two fields.StylesOutlook Today comes with 5 built-in styles to choose from. Once you select a style from the list, a thumbnail preview of the style will appear below the list.The available styles are:
