NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Internet Mail Only option. To determine your installation type, on the Help menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Internet Mail Only" if you have the Internet Mail Only option installed. SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Outlook 2000 you cannot request delivery receipts if you installed Outlook with the Internet Mail Only (IMO) setup option. CAUSEThe Internet Mail Only setup option does not include MAPI support for delivery receipts. RESOLUTIONTo request delivery receipts you must set up Outlook with the Corporate or Workgroup option. Re-run Setup and select Add/Remove to switch to the Corporate or Workgroup (CW) option. MORE INFORMATION
If you are using an internet e-mail account, such as found on ISP, POP3,
and SMTP e-mail servers, and Outlook is installed with the IMO option you
do not have the ability to request a delivery receipt of e-mail messages.
You can use Outlook (CW) with the Internet E-mail transport service to
connect to your ISP e-mail servers and receive delivery receipts.
