OL2000: (IMO) How to Automatically Add People to Contacts

NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Internet Mail Only option. To determine your installation type, on the Help menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Internet Mail Only" if you have the Internet Mail Only option installed.

SUMMARY

Microsoft Outlook 2000 can automatically add the e-mail address of each person you reply to as a contact in your Contacts folder.

NOTE: This feature is not available when using the Corporate or Workgroup installation of Outlook.


MORE INFORMATION

To enable this feature, follow these steps:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.


  2. On the Preferences tab, click E-mail Options.


  3. Click to select "Automatically put people I reply to in." If you have more than one Contacts folder available, click Folder, and then select the desired Contacts folder.


  4. Click OK to close all dialog boxes.
