OL2000: (IMO) Microsoft Fax Replaced with WinFax Starter Edition

NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Internet Mail Only option. To determine your installation type, on the Help menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Internet Mail Only" if you have the Internet Mail Only option installed.

SYMPTOMS

Installing Microsoft Outlook 2000, Internet Mail Only (IMO), replaces Microsoft Fax with WinFax Starter Edition from Symantec.

CAUSE

This behavior is by design.

RESOLUTION

To restore Microsoft Fax functionality you must:

Uninstall Outlook 2000.

-or-

On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click Mail Delivery. Click "Reconfigure Mail Support", and then click to select Corporate or Workgroup.

MORE INFORMATION

If you were previously using Microsoft Fax, installing Outlook 2000 with Internet Mail Only support automatically installs the WinFax Starter Edition from Symantec.
