You can change the font for viewing a plain text mail message in the Preview Pane using the following steps:

On the Tools menu click Options, on the Mail Format tab click Fonts, and then click Choose Font adjacent to "When composing and reading plain text."

Select the font attributes you want, and click OK three times to close the Options.

It may be necessary to click a different message to refresh your display.
