OL2000: Sunday Does Not Display as First Day in Weekly View

ID: Q196742

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Outlook 2000

SYMPTOMS

Choosing to show Sunday as the first day of the week in Microsoft Outlook has no effect on the Weekly Calendar display or on the Weekly Calendar printout.

CAUSE

The Weekly Calendar display always displays Saturday and Sunday together in a single day cell. Because Sunday is always below Saturday in that cell, it is not possible to display Sunday as the first day of the week.

MORE INFORMATION

Choosing Sunday as the first day of the week in Monthly views works as expected if you first turn off the option to Compress weekend days.

To turn off Compress Weekend Days, follow these steps:

  1. On the View menu, point to Current View, and click Customize Current View.

  2. On the View Summary dialog box, click Other Settings.

  3. In the Month section, click to clear the Compress Weekend Days check box. Click OK, OK to close all dialog boxes.

NOTE: The small monthly calendar displayed in Day/Week/Month view always displays the correct "First day of week" choice, even with the Compress Weekend Days option turned on.
