The information in this article applies to:
NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the
Internet Mail Only option. To determine your installation type, on the Help
menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should
see "Internet Mail Only" if you have the Internet Mail Only option
installed.

This article describes how to set up the CompuServe POP3/SMTP mail server
with the Internet Mail Only option.

CompuServe provides POP3/SMTP mail support. To set up the POP3/SMTP mail
server for Outlook, follow these steps:
- Right-click the Microsoft Outlook icon on your
desktop, and then click
Properties.
- Click Add. Type your name and click Next.
- Type your Internet E-mail address and click Next.
- In the Incoming Mail (POP3) box, type "pop.site1.csi.com" (without
quotation marks). If you have received a different POP3 address from
CompuServe, use that instead. This will also become the name for your
mail account.
- In the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) box type "smtp.site1.csi.com" (without
quotation marks). If you have received a different SMTP address from
CompuServe, use that instead. Click Next.
- Click to select "Log on using Secure Password Authentication." This
will allow you to access your mailbox with the added security provided
by CompuServe's Virtual Key - RPA. If you prefer, you can use your mail-
only password instead. Click Next.

- Click to select the appropriate connection type:
If you connect using a local area network, click "Connect using my
local area network (LAN)."
If you connect using a modem and the CompuServe connection, click
"Connect using my phone line", and then click Next. Click to select the
CompuServe connection, and then click Next. If you connect using a modem
and want to use a different Internet Service Provider (ISP), select it
from the list. If an appropriate connection does not exist, you can
create one using the Add button. Click OK.
- Click Finish on the Congratulations page. Click Close.
