NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate Workgroup/Other option. This option allows you to use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, on the Help Menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Corporate" if you have the Corporate Workgroup installation.

This article describes how to copy folder design properties from one folder to another in Microsoft Outlook. Folder design properties include Permissions, Rules, Description, and Forms and Views.

To copy folder design properties from one folder to another, you must have the Exchange Extensions Add-in installed and the Exchange Server service in your profile.

To Install the Exchange Extensions Property Pages Add-in

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.


  2. On the Other tab, click Advanced Options, and then click Add-In Manager.


  3. Click Install. Click to select the Outex.ecf file, and click Open.


  4. Click OK three times to close all dialog boxes.


To Copy Design Properties from One Folder to Another

  1. In the Folder List view, click to select the destination folder.


  2. On the File menu, point to Folder, and then click Copy Folder Design.


  3. In the "Copy design from this folder" list, select the source folder.


  4. Under Copy Design Of, click the properties you want to copy.


  5. Click OK, and click Yes.
