OL2000: (CW) Voting Messages and Meeting Invitations Missing Buttons

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Outlook 2000

NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate Workgroup/Other option. This option allows you to use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, on the Help Menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Corporate" if you have the Corporate Workgroup installation.

SYMPTOMS

When you send a meeting invitation or click Use Voting Buttons, the buttons may be missing from the message when received.


CAUSE

You are using the Internet Mail transport service and have not chosen to send e-mail to the recipient in Rich Text Format (RTF).


RESOLUTION

Select the Internet Mail option for sending e-mail in RTF for each recipient.

Selecting the RTF Sending Option for a Contact

To select the RTF sending option for a contact, follow these steps:

  1. Open a contact.


  2. Double-click the e-mail address.


  3. On the Address tab, click to select "Always send to this recipient in Microsoft Outlook rich-text format" and then click OK.


  4. Click Save And Close.


Selecting the RTF Sending Option for Personal Address Book Entries

To select the RTF sending option for Personal Address Book entries, follow these steps:

  1. In the Inbox view, click Address Book on the Tools menu.


  2. In the "Show Names from the" list, click Personal Address Book.


  3. Double-click the recipient's entry.


  4. On the STMP - Address tab, click to select the "Always send to this recipient in Microsoft Outlook rich-text format" check box, and then click OK.


  5. Close the Address book.
