SYMPTOMSIf you group items by subject, the items may not appear in the same group. For example, two e-mail messages with the same subject appear in two different groups when grouped by the Subject field. CAUSEThe subject of one of the items may contain extra or trailing spaces. Grouping does not allow any differences in the grouped field. RESOLUTION
If the items you are grouping are replies, as in a message thread, you can
successfully group them by conversation. If the items are independent of
each other (not a message thread) use either of the following methods to
group the items:
