OL2000: How to Change Calendar View Task Information

ID: Q197901

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Outlook 2000

SUMMARY

When you use the Calendar view of Microsoft Outlook, some task information may not appear on the TaskPad.

MORE INFORMATION

By default, Outlook only shows the following fields on the TaskPad in Calendar views:

  • Icon

  • Complete

  • Subject

You can, however, modify the TaskPad view within the Calendar view to include other fields.

NOTE: The TaskPad is not visible in the Month view by default. By dragging the right edge of the calendar to the left, you can compress the monthly Calendar display, thus allowing enough room for the Taskpad to show up. Changing the TaskPad view in Calendar folder does not change the TaskPad view in the Tasks folder.

To modify the TaskPad in the Calendar folder, follow these steps:

  1. On the View menu, point to Go To, and then click Calendar.

  2. On the View menu, click Day.

  3. Right-click on the Taskpad, point to TaskPad Settings, and then click Show Fields.

  4. In Show Fields, press and hold the CTRL key, click to select the fields you would like to add, and then click Add.

Other fields are available in the Select Available Fields list, or click New Field to create your own fields.

  5. Under "Show these fields in this order," click to select the fields that you wish to remove, and then click Remove.

  6. To order the fields that you have chosen, click the field to select it, click Move Up or Move Down to place it in the order that you want, and click OK and OK.

The TaskPad in the Monthly Calendar view will now reflect your changes. You may need to resize the TaskPad pane to accommodate all fields that you selected.
