NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Internet Mail Only option. To determine your installation type, on the Help menu click About Microsoft Outlook. SYMPTOMSYou are attempting to connect to the mail server at the IBM Global Network using the dialer program provided when you initially subscribed to the service. After the connection is made, you immediately receive the following error message:
RESOLUTION
There are two methods to successfully connect to the IBM Global Network
with Microsoft Outlook.
Method 1The IBM dialer creates a Windows Dial-up Networking connection during the configuration. This connection is used by the dialer when you click Connect. You can use this connection to connect to the IBM Global Network prior to starting Outlook and before checking for mail. If you choose to connect to the IBM Global Network using this method, you will remain connected to the Internet after you exit Outlook.To use the Dial-up connection created by the IBM dialer, follow these steps:
Method 2You can configure a new, separate Dial-up Network connection for the IBM Global Network using the Dial-up Networking Wizard.To use an alternate Dial-up connection rather than the one created by the IBM dialer, follow these steps:

The creation of a Dial-up Connection to the IBM Global Network requires
that Domain Name Service (DNS) server addresses be configured. Information
