SYMPTOMSAfter importing items created in Eudora to the Address Book in Microsoft Outlook, recipients defined in Eudora Nicknames may be imported as individual items with strange entries consisting of shifted elements of the e-mail addresses in the Name field of both the Contacts and Address Book. CAUSEEudora uses primarily e-mail addresses in Nicknames, so Outlook uses the e-mail address elements to make a name for the Contact. Names must be manually entered in place of the incorrect names since the Eudora Nicknames use only addresses. RESOLUTIONImporting Addresses Using the Windows Address BookAn alternate method of converting addresses from the Eudora Nicknames list is to use the import function of the Windows Address Book (WAB). To import using the WAB, follow these steps:

The name entry for the Eudora nickname may be entered in the Full Name and File As fields in the Outlook Contact. For example, if your Nickname for a recipient whose name is John Doe is JohnD and the SMTP address is "someone@microsoft.com", the converted result in the Contact form may show entries in the Full Name and File As fields of "JohnD."
