SYMPTOMSWhen you use a toolbar customized with Microsoft Outlook 2000 to access the Font list in Outlook 98, the computer may stop responding or may display the following illegal-operation error message: If you click Details, the following message is displayed:
CAUSEThis happens when you customize the toolbar in Outlook 2000 and then uninstall and reinstall Outlook 98. When you customize the toolbars, the Outcmd.dat file is modified. Outlook 98 does not properly handle the Outcmd.dat file that was modified by Outlook 2000. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, close Outlook and rename the Outcmd.dat file. Then modify the toolbar from within Outlook 98. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. Additional query words: OL2K
