OL2000: Printing to HP Laserjet 5Si/Si MX PS Printer Causes Invalid Page Fault

SYMPTOMS

When you use Outlook to print to a HP Laserjet 5Si/Si MX PS printer, you may receive one of several errors. These errors may be inconsistent, appearing one time you print and yet not another. The following lists these errors:

Outlook caused an invalid page fault in Rundll32.exe.

Rundll32.exe caused an invalid page fault in module Unknown.

Rundll32.exe caused an invalid page fault in HPLJ5SI.

Outlook caused an invalid page fault in HPLJ5SI.

In addition to these errors you may receive a blue screen Fatal Exception Error.

RESOLUTION

The above errors may occur when using the HP Laserjet 5Si/5Si MX PS printer driver. If the errors persist, try using a different Laserjet 5 series driver that is not configured for PostScript.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
