ID: Q212955

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Outlook 2000

SYMPTOMS

When you remove a category from an item and that item is the only item showing in a filtered view you may receive the following error messages:

Unable to display all the cells due to low memory.
This error is followed by:
The operation failed.
At this point the last error message continues to appear each time you click OK and then move your mouse pointer over the area that the original message occupied.

CAUSE

You have removed a category from an item under the following conditions:

  • The current view of the folder in question is filtered based on the category you removed.

  • There are no other items in the folder that contain the same category, and therefore, no items meet the filtering criteria.

RESOLUTION

Change the focus to another folder and then back to the folder with the problem view. To change the focus, click another folder either on the Outlook Bar or in the Folder List and then click the original problem folder. You should not see any items in the original folder, since no items meet the filter criteria for the current view.

To reset the view, point to Current View on the View menu, click Customize Current View, click Filter, click Clear All, and then click OK and OK.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Outlook 2000.
