OL2000: Pressing CTRL+D Unexpectedly Deletes Entire Contact Instead of Selected Activity Item

SYMPTOMS

If you press CTRL+D in an attempt to delete an item from a contact's Activity table, the entire contact is deleted instead of the item you selected.


RESOLUTION

Use the DELETE key instead of CTRL+D to delete items from a contact Activity list.

If you have already accidentally deleted a contact by pressing CTRL+D you can recover the contact by dragging it from the Deleted Items folder to your Contacts folder. To see your Deleted Items folder, on the View menu click Folder List.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Outlook 2000.
