NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate or Workgroup option. This option allows you to use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, on the Help Menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Corporate or Workgroup" if you have the Corporate or Workgroup installation. SYMPTOMS
When you upgrade from an earlier version of Microsoft Outlook and then attempt to connect to a Microsoft Exchange server in offline mode, to download message headers, you may get the following error message: Upon examination, the profile shows you have specified an Inbox delivery location. CAUSEThe following conditions can cause this error message:
RESOLUTION
Change your profile to "Choose connection type when starting," then start Outlook online and synchronize with the server. You can then quit Outlook and it should work properly in the offline state.
