NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Internet Mail Only option. To determine your installation type, on the Help menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Internet Mail Only" if you have the Internet Mail Only option installed. SYMPTOMSAfter completing an Internet Only setup of Microsoft Outlook on Microsoft Windows NT SP-3, you may receive the following two error messages when you start Outlook: Clicking OK results in a second error message: Clicking OK to the second error message closes Outlook. Restarting Outlook results in the same two error messages. NOTE: This may also occur using Windows 95 and 98. CAUSE
Outlook with the Internet Only setup option requires Microsoft Outlook Express in order to work properly; Outlook depends on Outlook Express files. RESOLUTIONFollow the instructions on the first error message and install Outlook Express. STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Outlook 2000.
