OL2000: (IMO) Pressing Alt+S Does Not Send Immediately to the Default Account

NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Internet Mail Only option. To determine your installation type, on the Help menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Internet Mail Only" if you have the Internet Mail Only option installed.

SUMMARY

If you have multiple e-mail accounts, you can use the key combination ALT+S, to select the account to send e-mail. Using this key combination does not send the message immediately however.


MORE INFORMATION

If you have multiple e-mail accounts, pressing ALT+S brings the focus to the Send button on the toolbar. If you click the arrow next to the Send button, you can see a list of accounts you can send e-mail from.

NOTE: Symantec Fax Starter Edition counts as an e-mail account.

If you have only one e-mail account, pressing ALT+S will send the mail item to your Outbox.

Use any of the following methods to send a message:

  • Press CTRL+ENTER to send the current message using the default account.


  • Click Send/Receive on the toolbar to send the current message using the default account.


  • In the message, on the View menu, click Options. In the Send Message Using list, click to select the account you want to send the message from.
