SYMPTOMSWhen you type a date into either the Birthday or Anniversary field in an Outlook contact using the format, mm/dd/yy, and the date is five years or more into the future, the year selected by the calendar control is incorrect. CAUSEThe algorithm used by the date parser in the Contact item looks five years into the future. For example, if the current year is 1999, "02" parses to the year 2002, but "06" becomes 1906. RESOLUTION
Use one of the following methods to ensure the intended date is used. Method 1Use the format, mm/dd/yyyy, to type the year as a four-digit number instead of two digits.Method 2Click the arrow adjacent to the Birthday or Anniversary field to use the calendar control to select the desired date.STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
