NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate or Workgroup option. This option allows you to use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, on the Help Menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Corporate or Workgroup" if you have the Corporate or Workgroup installation. SYMPTOMSWhen you use the Out Of Office Assistant to turn on an out of office notice, recipients may receive two notices instead of one. CAUSEThis problem can occur when a server-side rule is orphaned on the server. You cannot edit an orphaned rule. When you open the Out Of Office Assistant I am currently out of the office will be selected and include a message. Under These rules will apply to incoming messages while you are out of the office you will see the orphaned rule that is causing the problem. RESOLUTIONTo remove the second out of office notification, follow these steps:
