SYMPTOMSYou may lose contact links when you drag an appointment to another item. The behavior depends on the destination-item type. RESOLUTIONFor items other than Journal items, you must establish the contact link manually. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. MORE INFORMATIONThe following are examples of how contact linking behaves when you drag an appointment, containing a link to a contact, to another type of item folder. Task FolderIf you have an appointment that is linked to a contact, and drag the appointment to your Task folder, the new task item does not inherit the contact link.Inbox FolderIf you drag the appointment to your Inbox, and then in the newly created message click Options on the View menu, you will see that the Contact field is blank.Notes FolderIf you drag the appointment to your Notes folder, the Contact field on the new Note is empty.Journal FolderIf you follow the same procedure, but drag the appointment to your Journal folder, the new Journal item does inherit the contact link from the appointment.As you can see by the above examples, only Journal items inherit the contact link from the appointment.
