OL2000: Group Details from Outlook Express Contact Not Imported

SYMPTOMS

When you import address entries from Microsoft Outlook Express 5, not all information in the Group Details, of a Windows Address Book (WAB) Group, is imported to the Outlook Address Book (OAB) contacts distribution list.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

The OAB distribution list does not contain the fields needed to accomodate the detail information from the WAB group. Information in the Notes field is imported. The same condition exists if you attempt to import the group details to a Personal Address Book using the Corporate or Workgroup installation of Outlook.
