If you use Symantec Fax Starter Edition to send a fax with an attachment, you receive the following error messages:
When you click OK you get a dialog box that says it is rasterizing the document into fax format. After about 2 minutes the computer appears to stop responding. CAUSEThe Symantec Fax Starter Edition printer driver is missing or damaged. RESOLUTIONOn the Help menu, click Detect and Repair. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. MORE INFORMATION
When you send a text document as an attachment to a fax message it must be rasterized, or converted into a format that can be understood by the faxing software. This rasterization is done by the fax printer driver in the Printers folder. If the driver is missing or damaged, you will get the error message mentioned in the Symptoms section.
