OL2000: Printer Driver Setting Changes Do Not Affect Outlook

SYMPTOMS

Paper size and orientation settings made to your printer driver properties will not affect printing in Outlook. If you make these setting changes to the printer driver while running Outlook, you may receive the following warning message:

Some of the settings you changed may not work in Outlook. To control print settings, use the Page Setup dialog box.


RESOLUTION

Make these changes from Page Setup in Outlook.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

To Change Paper Size and Orientation Settings

  1. On the File menu, click Print.


  2. In the Print dialog box, click Page Setup (not Properties).


  3. On the Paper tab, click to select the standard paper size you want from Type or type custom dimensions in Width and Height.


  4. Click to select Portrait or Landscape in the Orientation section.


  5. Click OK and OK to print using your selected settings.


NOTE: These settings will remain in effect until you change them again.
