  • Microsoft Outlook 2000

SYMPTOMS

When using Microsoft Exchange Server 4.0, Service Pack 4, if you define an Outlook Rules Wizard rule using either the Redirect or the forward as an attachment option, you may receive the following error message:

There is not enough space on the Microsoft Exchange Server to store all of your rules. The rules that failed to upload have been deactivated.

CAUSE

This is an incorrect error message. The problem is that Exchange Server 4.0 supports neither the Redirect nor the forward as an attachment option.

RESOLUTION

Use the standard forward it to people or distribution list option.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
